We accept abstracts for oral or/and poster presentations of scientific papers to be presented at the
19th Annual Symposium of the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy on
28 February 2026. We are actively looking for the best venue for our symposium, and shall announce after confirmation.
As you prepare your submission, please consider meeting the main theme: “
Healing Hands, Endless Possibilities”. Specific priorities include (but not limit to):
- multidisciplinary and international perspectives,
- inclusion of the lived experience, and
- knowledge translation and implementation science,
The selection will be based on the criteria as below:

We appreciate good work in all areas related to hand and upper extremity therapy, including innovative practice, research study, and education. For example, experimental studies, literature review, systematic review, or related research are welcomed. Abstracts previously submitted to other meetings will also be considered.
All abstracts must be written in English.
The Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy Organizing Committee will review all submissions. Accepted abstract submissions will be announced through emails by
15 December 2025*.
*All deadlines are in effect at HKT 23:59 on the day indicated.

Does my submission have to relate to the theme or specific priorities?
We welcome content in all areas relevant to hand and upper extremity practice, innovation, research and education. Those abstracts which are closely linked to the theme or specific priorities will be given higher priority for acceptance.
Who can submit an abstract?
The call for abstracts is open to anyone who has content they would like to share with the hand therapy community. We welcome high-quality and innovative content from first-time submitters, including early-career therapists.
Can I submit an abstract I’ve previously presented elsewhere?
Yes. We welcome content presented elsewhere that is relevant to our hand therapy community. We may ask you to provide details about any past presentation(s) that are related to the current submission.
What is the cost to submit an abstract?
There is no fee to submit your abstract.
How are abstracts selected?
They are reviewed by the organizing committee of the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy. Speakers’ names are masked to avoid reviewers’ bias.
When will I be notified if my abstract is accepted?
Acceptance emails will be sent in mid-December 2025.
If my abstract is accepted, what happens next?
Congratulations on your acceptance! The organizing committee of the Hong Kong Society for Hand Therapy will be in contact with more details. You will be responsible for submitting your brief biography, your portrait, your presentation PowerPoint files, posters and/or handouts.
Do I need to register for the symposium?
Yes, you need to register for the symposium.
